KBA Rapida large format six-color presses—two 205s, a 162A, and a 142A—make
up the heart of The Garvey Group’s Wide-Format Division. The 205s
can handle a sheets up to 60 x 81inches, the 162A 47
x 64 inches, and
the 142 40 x 56 inches.
Garvey’s KBA Rapida presses offer customers high speed—up to 14,000 impressions per hour (13,000 for the 162A and 9,000 for the 205), coupled with the ability to produce outstanding 6C + aqueous coatings on a wide variety of substrates including plastics and foil. In addition, the Rapida 162A and 205UV can also apply UV coatings.
KBA Rapida large format presses represent the cutting edge of printing technology. All three large format presses feature control console technology that incorporates:
- Integration into a digital workflow using the CIP3 PPF format & G7 Proof-To-Press accuracy
- Across the board automation of functions including automated plate and load changing,
- Online densitometric and colorimetric image quality control managed through CIP3-developed PPF digital protocols, and Automatic presetting for most of the press components and ancillary systems.
