Our Sustainable Strategiessustainability

The Garvey Group is a sophisticated, technology-driven strategic marketing partner for 21st century businesses and is continually growing by meeting customers’ needs today and anticipating their needs for tomorrow. Earning both the Sustainable Forestry (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certifications in August of 2008 committed us to providing more environmentally conscious choices in all aspects of the printing process. This commitment is an on-going procedure of implementing more environmentally conscious practices and products with a goal to shrink our carbon footprint.

Here is a brief summary of our current activities:

  • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certified
  • Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) chain of custody certified
  • Approx. 250,000 lbs of paper recycled monthly
  • Use of low VOC emitting solvent based inks
  • Virtually 0% VOC emitting UV inks & Coatings
  • We continue to test and explore the use of low VOC emitting press solvents and solutions.
  • All materials used in process and office applications are recycled, i.e., paper, plastic, wood, aluminum, glass, florescent bulbs, etc. Our waste bags are even biodegradable and compostable.

(FSC) is an international association of members consisting of a diverse group of representatives from environmental and social groups, the timber trade and the forestry profession, indigenous people’s organizations, responsible corporations, community forestry groups and forest product certification organizations from around the world.

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® Inc.sfi

(SFI Inc.) program is based on the premise that responsible environmental behavior and sound business decisions can co-exist. SFI program participants practice sustainable forestry on all the lands they manage. They also influence millions of additional acres through the training of loggers and foresters in best management practices and landowner outreach programs. This unique commitment to sustainable forestry recognizes that all forest landowners, not just SFI program participants, play a critical role in ensuring the long-term health and sustainability of our forests.

When producing environmentally-conscious printed projects in our facility, this logo demonstrates that you have taken part in our dual-certified Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) chain of custody approach. You have partnered with us to utilize our eco-friendly offerings, such as the use of UV inks and coatings on your job, which produce virtually zero volatile organic compounds (VOC), and our low VOC-emitting press solutions. There is no charge to use this logo. In the end, your printed piece will be identified as being environmentally-friendly, and helping the industry become more sustainable.
